About Santa Fe TinTin work appeared in New Mexico in the early 1840s and its history is well documented. It is a cultural craft and is especially popular with people who are accenting, redecorating, or restoring an adobe, Spanish, or southwestern home. Many of our designs complement log homes, lodges, beach homes and vintage homes as well. Northern New Mexican tinwork is collected all over the world. Santa Fe Tin carries a wide variety of traditional and contemporary tin and copper art, all handcrafted in-house by artist Kelly Hakonson in her northern New Mexico studio. She uses traditional patterns and techniques that are hundreds of years old and also creates her own designs. She takes pride in her workmanship, and she strives to create unique pieces of collectible art that will be valued. Each piece is signed and dated. Santa Fe Tin adds an old world charm to any home! We have a great selection of mirrors, switchplates (for small flip switches and the larger paddle switches), electrical outlet covers, crosses, night lights, and our own copyrighted prayer boxes. We'll soon be doing tin and copper light fixtures, as well as lots of other interesting artistic pieces, and we love to work with contractors, interior designers and architects! Take your time and browse our catalog. We will happily entertain invitations for custom work, and we do wholesale in large quantities. Our HistorySanta Fe Tin is a division of Beyond Blessed, a company Hakonson started in 2000. Beyond Blessed began as the showcase site for her handcrafted work (including tundra bracelets), and has since evolved into a more Christian-themed site that sells sterling silver prayerboxes, Millefiori pendants from Italy, and other unique items. Tundra bracelets have become very popular, and the new, dedicated Tundra site (www.tundrabracelets.com) was launched in early 2004. |
